Cellular Therapies
AABB first became involved in issues concerning hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPCs) in 1983 to update blood facilities about the special needs that bone marrow transplant patients have for hematologic support. As the field has evolved to include collection, processing, storage, and distribution of HPCs and other cell therapy products, AABB has expanded services to offer related programs in education, standards, and accreditation, along with numerous resources and reference tools. This section includes information on topics relating to cellular therapy as well as resources for the cellular therapy professional.
